Aircraft Maintenance Activity

Aircraft Maintenance ActivityAerotécnica, in its aeronautical activity, performs aircraft maintenance over several private companies aircrafts of and also over the aircrafts pertaining to its holding - Leávia - Aviation School and Aero Vip – Companhia de Transportes e Serviços Aéreos.

An aircraft never gets older, even so it can be consider out of date. In fact, with a careful maintenance (as we can perform at Aerotécnica) and when manufacturer’s recommendations are fulfilled - accomplishing the respective maintenance programs, preventive inspections and programmed replacements - those procedures returns the “youth” and the operational capacity of the aircraft.

Whenever maintenance activity is performed over an aircraft, it is mandatory to issue a document named Maintenance Release to Service or simply the “Release”, about the action performed, signed by a Certifier, a senior technician recognized by the National Aeronautical Authority, which certifies that the work carried out over the aircraft had been executed by the established aeronautical rules and where it is granted that the aircraft is safety to fly.

Certifying Staff

Certifying Staff Aeronautical technicians in general and therefore also those belonging to Aerotécnica, needs a license, issued and granted by the National Aeronautical Authority - the INAC (National Institute of Civil Aviation) to allow them to do their jobs.

Besides being qualified by specific aircraft courses, each candidate has also to show he has the “On Job” knowledge to work on. Complementarily he will have to prove, by written tests, that he have that knowledge and the corresponding capacities.

As the aeronautical work is related with human lives safety, it is an enormous responsibility to guarantee the reliability of the carried out services. So, each operation performed by one technician, is after verified by a senior one, with the same or higher level of qualification, who, with its signature, validates the work carried through by the first one.

Opportunities

OpportunitiesAeronautics deals with high technology and for that, it’s also a professional area where it is not easy to find a job, as companies, like Aerotécnica, are a few in the market but, a good professional has always is job granted.

Aircraft versus Automobile

Aircraft versus AutomobileMaking a comparison between aircraft maintenance and high class automobiles, one can find that the value of maintenance aircraft is not very expensive. So it is easy to conclude that, nowadays, it’s more accessible to travel by plane then by car, even without considering that is a much faster means of transportation.

Besides this obvious advantage, and even considering licenses, repairs, maintenance e and man power prices, it’s cheaper to have an aircraft than some high class passenger vehicles.
